This is firstly I write about SEO and maybe it’s not something new to you. You know already that all people who have blog or website is always talk about it. Actually, what is SEO and why you should apply it? Because if you setting it right, you can enjoy avalance free traffic from major search engines like Google and Yahoo.
For all of you that already familiar with SEO, I suggest that you shouldn’t skip this. It is worth to read. Maybe I can give you additional mindset about SEO part that you didn’t know yet. Ok let’s start this.
SEO is stand for Search Engine Optimization. We know many search engine company, but only 3 of those are most used, especially Google for about 70% usage and still grow up. So, what is the relation? Simple. There are many ways to get traffic to your site. But the most powerful is you can get the #1 position in search engine with specific keyword. So SEO is known the ways to make your site rank well in search engines by optimize both on page and off page factors. I don’t want to explain about these factors yet and I will cover them in next post.
The importance of SEO is not about what have you done to do it, but the mindset. This mindset is mean a new way to thinking about online marketing and to achieve long term page 1 search engine result. You want your site to stick there as long as possible no matter what is going to happen or regardless any change made by search engine like Google.
Sounds easy, but hard to do if you don’t know how. I will tell you that is really easy. Yeah, you read it right. You can absolutely rank well in search engine for any keywords. But, there is a downside. It takes time. SEO is not about you can get high SE (search engine) result overnight, especially for competitive keywords and sites.
If you heard someone can get page 1 result for competitive keywords on Google overnight, then I will laugh loud at him. Because if that person can get it overnight, then it must be for no possible money keywords. What is money keywords? I want to cover that also on my next post.
There is some sort of guidelines to this SEO process. All is divided by two, Do and Don’t. Simple like that, but carried big boost in your SEO ranking if you follow those. These guideline is more easier to follow for blogging platform instead classic HTML website. I don’t say that HTML site can’t get well rank. It can, but you must do it harder than blog. Because there is many big advantage of using blog for your site like easy to update / add fresh content and manage plugin. But the downside is, you are limited to free modified design, coding and only based on blog CMS (content management system).
HTML website is more dynamic for free design and it’s coding, but hardly to update / add fresh content regularly. What should better for use you ask me? Well I advice you to use it either blog or HTML site os depend on what is your purpose. If you want to keep information update and easy to manage content, then you should use blog. If you want to capture lead, put sales page, members area, download page and login, you should use HTML site.
SEO it self is no more than 3 general steps as follow :
- Identify Your Audience / Targetted Visitor
- Optimize Your Site For Keyword Which You Targetting
- Track Your Progress and Make Adjustments If Necessary
