Did you recall what I said that what are you see and feel can almost influence your mind? I also said that your brain is like Tazmanian Devil bully that never run out space.
See the picture? It clearly says about filtering what is entering your brain. Once you open your internet, all things that you plan to do is likely almost never be done 100%. Internet is full of distraction and fun stuff than you can imagine. If you plan to only check emails, then you end up browsing for your favorite games. Or if you just want to find certain information on Wikipedia, you end up on iPhone sites.
That is a few example how internet made people forgot and asleep with all kind of “useless but fun”. I name it like that because almost 70% internet sites and contents didn’t add any good value to your life. Some even can make your brain dull. I am not going to say what kind of sites / contents that can make you dull and decrease your life value. You have grown up already my friend and you knew what is good for you and your family. So what I am going to show you is how you can avoid most of fun and distraction things as you browse internet to do what are you planning :
- Make Time Schedule
You have to know and plan how much time you will spend on your internet activity.
Maybe 30 minutes, 1 hour, 3 hours or more than 5 hours.
. - Planning & Write What Are You Gonna Do
Always plan before you open internet. Ask yourself what kind of activity are you gonna do?
Check email? Find information? Doing office work? Answer customers response? Make some blog posts? Buy electronic online? Curious for brand new tech? Socialize with friends with Facebook and Twitter?
Whatever it is, you should write and planning, so you can keep on your way to make it done.
. - Action & Discipline
Ok, you have plan and already written it. Good. Now it’s time for action.
First, only open your browser for your chosen URL only (sites that you plan to do your activity).
Second, never open unneeded sites, especially sites that can distract you.
. - Keep Doing Until Done
Just keep doing all of your activity planned until finish.
Don’t try to open other sites yet.
. - Take A Break & Planning For Next Action
After finish, congratulation for you. You are great.
Take a break for a while. Maybe you want to watching news, play with your kids, communicate with your spouse, call your friends, or just take a little walk around. Don’t underestimate this break. Because it will make you refresh, loose your nerve, avoid stress, and ready for next action.

See, isn’t it easy and simple? But do you believe most people can’t do those? Well, I understand what are you thinking, “Ah, you are lecturing me just like I’m a kid, I already knew and can do it easily.” But can you? Do you ever do it 100% on what are you want to do before you open internet? If your answer is YES, then I would like to say you are a splendid person. But if you didn’t, you are still great person. Because you are here today reading my post about how to solve your brain overload. I believe everyone can avoid brain overload if follow my simple steps above.
Just practise and try to apply my advice and you will overcome this problem easily. More often you doing this, more better person you are gonna be. Yeap, you read it right. This simple steps will make you be a BETTER PERSON.
Not really you say? Ok, just think with your own logic since I believe you are smart. Don’t you agree that you will be more time scheduling, discipline, no more action delay, joyful person that make people around you happy?
